DPL started in 1986 under Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) as a Single Proprietorship with Mr. & Mrs. Rene Someros. The company is representing different companies in Asia like Trio Tech ( Singapore ), Evertech ( Singapore ) and MEI ( Hong Kong ).
In 1989, DPL was one of the few companies in the business that engaged in the equipment evaluation and set-up for the specific need of the customers , preventive maintenance service of old but still usable equipment/machine by re-furbishing parts and by conducting training seminars to further enhance and broaden the technical knowledge of company personnel.
Fortunately DPL was registered in Security & Exchange Commission (189055) in 1991. The business expanded into a Manufacturing Assembly and was registered as a Custom Bonded Warehouse under CBW # 137.
In the same year, DPL expanded its capital base and went into buying and selling of various used equipment, spare parts, direct and indirect materials for the semiconductor companies. This revolutionary idea further strengthens the rapid growth of DPL in the semiconductor business.
In 1992, DPL diversified its business activities into semiconductor sub-contracting assembly and test of Chip-On-Board, Clock Modules, Numerical Display (LED & LCD type), Watch Modules, Opto Modules, and Radio Frequency Identification Device as well as customize products. Today, DPL assembly and test operation has a monthly capacity of 5 million Opto Modules, 1.5 million Radio Frequency Identification Device and 1 million Chips-On- Board products.
In October 2001, DPL expanded its operation capacity to deal with the increase in order for Radio Frequency Identification Devices (RFID) for U.S.A customers. In terms of production space, DPL has added 2, 500 square meters on this expansion in the total lot area of 10,000 square meters located in Calamba Premier International Park (CPIP) in Batino, Laguna City . CPIP is a world class Philippine Economic Zone Area (PEZA).
The clientele of DPL continue to increase its additional operation of 100 % IC inspection and plating operation. DPL further upgraded its facilities by undertaking the following:
• A clean room section, with class 100 ppcf, with area of 200 square meters.
• A plating area with a capacity of 8 Million units per month and 4 million 100 % lead free solder dipping.
• A waste water treatment system
